• THE Shortcut to Success

There is one shortcut to success.

    Do more.

    “But work-life balance?! Burnout!!”

Balance is an optical illusion created by constantly shifting our weight.

    • Do more until more is too much.
    • Less until less is too little.
    • Repeat.

    That’s balance.
    That’s how you win.

  • How to be a loser

    Are you a loser?

    • Losers learn.
    • Winners start.

Learning is your excuse to avoid real work.
    It feels good.
It feels like you’re getting somewhere.

But knowledge is caught, not taught.

    Stop learning and DO something.

    ANYTHING.

    • Action creates experience.
    • Experience creates opportunity.
    • Opportunity needs more action. ♼

    Luck doesn’t exist.

But I know you insist that it does, so I’ll concede that “luck” comes from taking action.

    Full stop.

Luck is the result of action.

    But, but…what about lottery winners?!

    —You

Oh no, you got me, I haven’t heard that one yet.

I can’t believe all those lottery winners listened to an audiobook about winning and were magically granted the grand prize!

    Oh wait… That’s. Never. Happened.

    What did they do?
They bought a goddamn lottery ticket.
What does the word buy imply?

    ACTION.

How to stop being a loser

    1. Start
    2. Keep Going

    How to be a loser

    1. Listen to another podcast
    2. Download another audiobook
    3. Buy another course

    It’s up to you.

    Do you want to win?

    PROVE IT.
(Just don’t buy lottery tickets, that’s still stupid)

  • We only wear black, but when we don’t, we somehow still dress the same 🤦‍♂️

  • I do, therefore I be

I do, therefore I be - What is MAVEN? Podcast

With an all new set, we talk about everything from what’s that smell to the philosophy of thinking versus doing.

  • How to find the right business coach

A business coach, like a great sports coach, should meet you where you are. Their job is to ask questions and provide guidance, not to define who and where they think you should be.

    You have an existing skillset.
    You have a network.
    You have opportunity.

A coach should identify and work within those constraints.

One who does will always outperform one who seeks conformity to their personal model for success.

Make sure you’re met where you are. If a coach expects you to join them where they are, demand better.

  • Doing vs Done-ing

    Art is ephemeral.

    What you’ve done doesn’t matter.

    What you DO is everything.

Like it or not, “What’s next?” is the most important question.

But it must be answered well before it’s asked.

Otherwise you’re no longer an artist taking us on a journey.

We’re just passengers asking to be dropped somewhere…anywhere.

  • The simple way to stop procrastinating

This week, we talk about systems, friction, and how to overcome what’s holding you back.

  • Audience of Ones

You don’t need an audience of millions, thousands, or even hundreds to have a thriving business.

You can also be wildly successful with an audience of ones.

    Just build accordingly.

  • This week, we’re sticking with our podcast habit by recording from the car. We had an audio snafu, but that won’t stop us.

We talk about why your habits aren’t sticking, how to successfully build positive habits, and how to stay motivated.

  • Everything is made up, nothing matters

Everything is made up, nothing matters

I constantly talk to people who aren’t doing their thing because: excuses.

Then I invariably say, “Everything’s made up and nothing matters.”

    Then they laugh.

    They always laugh.

    Not because it’s funny.

    But because it’s uncomfortable.
And because they know it’s true.

Don’t let fear of judgment or the opinions of others hold you back.

    Everything is made up.
    Nothing matters.

    Just do the thing.
