4 Halloween & Fall Mocktails {Gluten-free, Vegan, & Dairy-free!}

Happy Fall & Halloween season! 🎃👻🖤

Halloween is literally the best holiday ever. It’s the perfect comfy, cozy holiday where you can be your best, freaky weird self and no one can give you shit for it.

A few years ago, I made some fun Fall & Halloween cocktails to celebrate the best season. Since making these recipes, I’ve actually totally stopped drinking alcohol for a variety of reasons (mostly health-related) and I feel soooooo much better!!

That said, I still love to celebrate holidays with a fun drink, so this year I re-created some of those cocktail recipes as mocktails. And no, I didn’t just take the alcohol out and call it a day. I wanted to make sure to maintain the flavor integrity while also keeping them super fun!

A Quick Note!!

All of these recipes are gluten-free, dairy-free, & vegan! There are, however, a small amount of bitters and vanilla extract in the recipes for my Candy Corn mocktail, Caramel Apple mocktail, and Pumpkin Pie mocktail, so if you’re completely abstaining from alcohol, please omit those! The My Soul, however, is free of bitters & extracts! 🙂

Candy Corn Mocktail

As I mention in my recipe video, this mocktail is more referential of a candy corn rather than being 100% the same flavor. That doesn’t make it any less delicious, though! The fresh citrus flavors of the orange, lemon, and lime pair super well with the vanilla extract! The Topo Chico helps mellow out the flavors, while the Cocowhip melts into your citrusy concoction further establishing that delicious orange-vanilla flavor 🙂

Description

If you’re looking for a non-alcoholic version of my Candy Corn Martini, then this is the perfect drink for you!

I mention in my video for these recipes that this is more referential of a candy corn, rather than being an exact replica of flavor. Nevertheless, it’s still a delicious medley of fresh citrus, smooth vanilla, and marshmallow notes! 🙂

Ingredients

Scale

For the mocktail:

  • 5 oz. organic no pulp orange juice
  • ½ oz. organic lime juice
  • â…“ oz. organic lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. organic vanilla extract
  • Topo Chico

Garnish:

Instructions

  1. Add a few ice cubes to a mason jar or cocktail shaker.
  2. Add the orange juice, lime juice, lemon juice, and vanilla extract to your shaker of choice.
  3. Put your lid on and give it a good shake (~15-20 seconds).
  4. Strain your drink over a martini glass.
  5. Top with Topo Chico.
  6. For garnish, add a spoonful of Cocowhip (or any other non-dairy or dairy whipped topping), and some candy corn!
  7. Enjoy your daily serving of vegetables because candy corn totally counts as a vegetable!

Caramel Apple Mocktail

I really wish dairy-free caramel apples weren’t so expensive and difficult to find! I guess I’ll have to keep drinking my Caramel Apple mocktail until that reality can come true! 😛

The Black Walnut Bitters creates such a rich, full, mapley delicious vibe that you’ll swear you were drinking an actual cocktail. It honestly makes such a difference!

Side note: if you are completely abstaining from all alcohol, please refrain from adding the Black Walnut and Angostura bitters! They contain alcohol similar to vanilla extract.

My Soul Mocktail

Do I really need to describe this drink to you? The title says it all lol.

While I’m normally not a fan of grape, this mocktail has got it going on!! The combination of fresh, zesty ginger mixes so well with sweet grape and tart lime juice. The small bit of activated charcoal helps take this drink from yummy and fun, to a dark, festive drink that is perfect to serve at your next Halloween gathering!

Ooo, and feel free to garnish My Soul with a charcoal-sugar rim if you’re looking for an even schnazier mocktail!

Description

While making these recipes, I was stuck between calling this drink “Goth Juice” and “My Soul” because this is the perfect medley of sweet grape juice, slightly tart lime juice, a zing of ginger, and the dark edge of charcoal, just like my soul! 😛

Ingredients

Scale

For the mocktail:

Garnish:

Instructions

  1. Fill a mason jar or cocktail shaker with a few ice cubes.
  2. Add the grape juice, ginger beer, lime juice, and charcoal.

  5. Strain your drink over your highball glass.

Notes

* While this recipe is absolutely delicious, please be careful ingesting activated charcoal when taking medication: “Activated charcoal absorbs substances in the stomach and intestines. Taking activated charcoal along with medications taken by mouth can decrease how much medicine your body absorbs, and decrease the effectiveness of your medication. To prevent this interaction, take activated charcoal at least one hour after medications you take by mouth.

Pumpkin Pie Mocktail

Now you can have your pie and drink it, too! This gluten-free, dairy-free & vegan mocktail is basically like drinking pumpkin pie filling and I am all about it 🙂 I personally prefer to use oat milk in this recipe just to really make it a creamy, rich, and delicious beverage, but coconut or almond milk are just as delicious!
